Himachal Pradesh Legislators Give Themselves A Fat Pay Hike

Himachal Pradesh legislators on Thursday gave themselves a 61 percent – 100 percent pay hike, increasing a legislator’s monthly salary from Rs.90,000 to Rs.145,000. The monthly salary of the chief minister goes up from Rs.95,000 to Rs.190,000 and that of a cabinet minister from Rs.80,000 to Rs.145,000. Likewise, the salary of the speaker jumps from Rs.80,000 to Rs.175,000 and that of deputy speaker from Rs.75,000 to Rs.170,000.
