Erik Huizer on the Free and Open Internet



Huizer is Chief Technology Officer at SURFnet, the Dutch national academic and research network, and also a part-time professor Internet Applications at University of Utrecht. Huizer serves as Scientific Captain of the Dutch Creative Industries top sector and chairs the Dutch national IPv6 Task Force. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for .nl, the Netherlands’ ccTLD registry; the Board of the Public Internet Registry; and the Internet Society’s Dutch chapter.

He is also a member of the Internet Hall of Fame.

To celebrate the launch of the .amsterdam domain name, we asked Internet Hall of Famer Erik Huizer to share his ideas on the current state of the Internet. In this thought provoking talk he warns us not to give up the promise of the Internet.
