What is your biggest challenge as Chief Learning Officer in a global organization? by Karen Kocher



Karen is employed by Cigna as the Chief Learning Officer for the global organization. In this role Karen is accountable for Learning, Leadership Effectiveness and Organizational Development for the entire Cigna team and also external stakeholders. Specifically, Karen is responsible for capability and competency development, strategic workforce planning, employee engagement and the redesign of Cigna’s performance management model.
Prior to joining Cigna, Karen worked at IBM in multiple roles including as a Global Solutions Executive in the Software Division and an Offering Executive for Advanced and Emerging Technologies in Global Services. Prior to IBM Karen was the General Manager/VP and P&L leader for the IKON Office Solution’s New England Learning Services business.
The early years of Karen’s career were spent in line positions in insurance and financial services including finance, operations, information technology, risk management and sales. Karen earned the prestigious Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation from the American College and is a member of the CPCU Society.
