Westinghouse Chief Technology Officer Kate Jackson Comments on Nuclear Power Alliance

Westinghouse selects Missouri as the best choice to develop Small Modular Nuclear Reactor (SMR) technology because the state offers a strong nuclear operator (Ameren Missouri) with an excellent site for development (Callaway Nuclear Plant) and an unprecedented alliance of electric energy providers including Ameren Missouri, the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives (AMEC), Associated Electric Cooperative, Inc. (AECI), The Empire District Electric Company, Kansas City Power & Light Company, and the Missouri Public Utility Alliance, have also committed to supporting the Westinghouse application to the Department of Energy.
