PEI Entrepreneurs Embrace Innovation to Grow: Aspin Kemp & Associates

February 19, 2016

February 11, 2016 – Joined by business, industry, and research and development (R&D) leaders from across Atlantic Canada, the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for ACOA, joined by the Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, Government House Leader and Member of Parliament for Beauséjour, N.B., announced a commitment to invest up to $12.6 million dollars in six innovative projects across Atlantic Canada.

See what Jason Aspin, Chief Executive Officer, Aspin Kemp and Associates of Prince Edward Island, had to say about the announcement.

“It’s a huge help for us. We do a lot of investment as a company in research and development and innovation. Our product, our whole product base is based on innovation. So this will help us take technology that we’ve developed for the oil and gas sector and leverage that into new business streams on the terrestrial market.

We think it’s got potential immediately with the funding it’ll bring in, you know probably 10, 10 jobs and then eventually as we develop the product, we hope to continue to grow the business and it could bring several more jobs in the manufacturing areas as well.

We think it’ll change the way power systems work in industry. It’s going to do a lot as far as helping rid stress that’s on the current grid and infrastructure on land and yeah, we’re excited about getting this sort of assistance and very excited about getting the project going.”
