Jennifer Sultzaberger Explains How to Get Your Videos to Rank Higher in Seach (Ep. 51)

This video series, born from The Marketing Scope’s blog – Marketing Mash, is dedicated to talking about best practices in marketing techniques and new products as well as conversations with industry leaders. We will take a closer look at marketing and start some open conversations while having some fun along the way.

In this episode, Eric Vidal and Dan Newman welcome special guest Jennifer Sultzaberger, Founder of #vidit, in a recorded Blab podcast from our Marketing Mash Live podcast show. The topic of discussion is video marketing and how to get videos to rank higher in search.

What is #vidit?

Jennifer explains that #vidit takes the hashtag keywords that a company wants to be found for and couples them with their videos. This coupling provides excellent search placement across major search engines. Jennifer found a way to leverage the use of hashtags to benefit her clients and even has a patent on the technology that #vidit uses.

Tips to Boost Your Video Search Ranking:

– Use YouTube to host your video. YouTube is the largest search engine for video and is owned by Google. It just makes sense to use the service. Plus, it’s free and offers many free editing and marketing tools for its users.

– Make sure that your title and description are completely filled out. This ensures your video will be found.

– Understand the legalities involved in using YouTube and video. This will help you to avoid doing something that might get your channel shut down.

Fast Facts and Predictions:

– Google indexes every tweet, all day, every day.
– 7% of all Google searches in 2014 included a hashtag.
– Jennifer predicts that the latest report will show more than 10% of searches include a hashtag.
– It’s been predicted that 70% of all marketing spends will be on video by 2017.
– Conversion rates are 65% higher when customers can see and hear the pitch.
