Ja Raffe the NBA-Inspired Giraffe Is Born in Tennessee

An adorable new crop of special animals joined the world at zoos and habitats across the globe. In Tennessee’s Memphis Zoo, Ja Raffe, the baby reticulated giraffe, was recently born to mom Angela Kate. The not-so-little little one was named after Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant. And at the Prague Zoo in the Czech Republic, a baby orangutan was born on Nov. 17, the anniversary of the 1989 Velvet Revolution.
