Swami Vivekananda wanted “to manufacture a few yogis” out of the disciples he had in America by 1895. With that purpose, he went to Thousand Island Park for seven weeks where he poured out his spiritual best to the select ones for full 43 days.
The notes of the class taken by Ms Waldo were in long hand and sketchy. However, it has come to be known as “Inspired Talks” because of its sheer profundity in matters religious and spiritual. It is now viewed as Gita for the modern times.
This small book harmonises different aspects of Vedanta, as also different religions, and spiritual philosophies. It is a must read for all those interested in deeper spirituality.
These talks were delivered at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, Belur Math, Howrah.
