David has been in I.T. and operations for over 20 years and has found himself in this position through developing his expertise in the field. At school, David was very passionate about technology, especially how it is used in everyday life. He always found himself coming back to I.T. and getting involved in the construction side of things. His focus had always been on technology, which is why David then wanted to specialise in I.T. and build on his skills.

At the time he didn’t have a full understanding, but, he fortunately fell into an I.T. role that meantwhere he was being surrounded by great people able to point him in the right direction. When David started to progress and excel, he found himself working with senior engineers in development and testing. He says that as he became more advanced, the role became more challenging and rewarding which then opened up more opportunities, and more opportunities became available to him. He was recognised for this and has allowed him to take control of where he wanted to go in his career. Due to David’s hard working nature, ability to excel, and his flexibility when moving from role to role he was able to take control of his career progression.

David’s advice is to be passionate, hardworking, and dedicated as well as being humble with and maintaining integrity all the while. He also says advises that you should always start with energy and enthusiasm and to remember to always pursue your dreams.
