2016 Electro Scan’s New Water Leak Detection Technology

Well timed for California’s recently enacted SB555, Electro Scan represents the next generation in Water Loss Leak Detection devices.

Other suppliers and legacy technology providers didn’t have a chance at last week’s WEFTEC meeting at McCormick Place, Chicago, IL.

Low Voltage Conductivity leak detection ran over acoustic sensor, data loggers, and permanent device suppliers that listen for anomalies in pipes. At best, these legacy technologies have been ‘hit or miss.’

Electro Scan and its international patent pending multi-sensor, low voltage conductivity technology is a new breed of leak detection solution. Engineered from the ground up to deliver unparalleled location precision, measurement of size, and estimated leakage rate — all made possible with its 4-in-1 water probe — Electro Scan offers a dramatic improvement over legacy acoustic, electromagnetic, helium, and visual inspection techniques.

Electro Scan’s patent pending 4-in-1 Water Probe, includes:
1. Low Voltage Conductivity Sensor – to find & measure leaks.
2. Pressure Sensor – to help calculate GPM or LPS for each leak.
3. HD CCTV Camera – to navigate through valves, potential obstructions, and water mains.
4. Acoustic Hydrophone – to show a comparison of old v. new technology, i.e. what you have been missing and not able to measure.

New California legislation is expected to be signed by Gov. Brown on Oct. 11 affecting 450 of the state’s largest water utilities requiring each to conduct mandated annual water audits and water loss training programs. And, Electro Scan is expected to be a major part of certifying California water utilities ‘best efforts’ to find, measure, and prioritize needed repairs and rehabilitation.

Electro Scan is quickly expanding its fleet of water and sewer condition assessment vans to meet demand, so don’t despair.
