Texas Health Cleburne Operating Room Expansion Project Update

Mark Tipps, Director of Surgery Services at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne, led a tour of the OR expansion project on Tuesday, June 22, 2010.

The $8 million project, which was started in 2009, will add two operating rooms. After the expansion, the hospital will have five operating rooms. An additional 2,550 square feet of space will be added to the existing hospital building.

Once the operating rooms are open, Texas Health Cleburne will be able to accommodate several hundred new surgical cases and an additional 300 endoscopy cases. Texas Health Cleburne administrators expect that the additional operating room capacity will help the hospital recruit other surgeons to the area. Volume could increase in subsequent years as more physicians are recruited.
