Safaricom appoints new chief technology and information officer

Safaricom has appointed Morten Bangsgaard as its new chief technology and information officer. 
In a memo to staff, CEO Peter Ndegwa, said Morten will join the firm on January 1st 2021 from Maxis Malaysia where he was the CTIO. Ndegwa also announced the exit of Safaricom Chief enterprise business officer Rita Okuthe at the end of this month. The decision Ndegwa told staff was to enable Okuthe give more attention to her appointment as the chairperson of Kenya Pipeline Company and a member of the board of ICDC. Her position will now be taken over by Joseph Wanjohi who is currently the head of enterprise sales. Last month Safaricom announced the appointment of Dilip Pal as chief finance officer.
